It’s not every now and then we get to join contests like these in the industry. When I heard about the contest I was initially hesitant. Why? Was it because I was scared? Was it because I was nervous? Surely anyone who enters any form of competition has that feeling of nervousness. I was nervous because I didn’t know who I was going compete with and of course, nervous if I’ll even get through the Top 3. Little did I know, not only did our video get to top 3, we achieved the Grand Prize title of the competition! And that in itself is an achievement that we will cherish forever.

Of course, we wouldn’t have achieved this without the help of the following people:

  • The organizers of WPPP (Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines) Photo and Video Congress along with Canon Marketing Philippines for the opportunity you gave wedding videographers to participate in this contest;
  • Our couple from the video, Izza and Gilbert for trusting us with your special event. Without your trust and confidence in our service, we would not have this amazing emotional piece that garnered us this award.
  • My family for all the support especially to my parents, my brother, Mike and his wife, Myla of Mike and Mai Photography for being with us in almost every project this year. Mom, Dad thank you so much for all the support, this award is for you. For your patience and love for me proves that it’s never too late for anything.
  • The team I worked with for this amazing wedding: Gary Sta. Cruz the details shooter, Dyna Fidel for assisting us and working with the lights, Ace and Rona as support shooters with amazing skill, Phoebe Rutaquio for the candid shoots and Kuya Efren for being the amazing driver for transporting us here, there and everywhere.
  • My girlfriend, my partner, my source of inspiration and love, Cristine Asiatico for everything. Miel, thank you for all the patience and understanding you have gone through and for loving me despite me being too busy with work. This is it Miel, this is for us!
  • To God for the grace and blessings He has bestowed upon us all.
  • To all of our past, future and current clients. Your trust and confidence in our services is what drives us to believe that we got what it takes to achieve more than we imagined.

I’d like to dedicate this award to my Grandma, my Lola, Mama Rosing. Mama, this award is for you as a small representation of your loving legacy that you have left with us all. It is your love and kindness that taught me that you should not seek for anything in return for the love you give.

Now, let us present to you, the Winning Video:

We first met Kate around less than two weeks before the wedding. We never expected her to be such an energetic and fun filled bride to work with. We had a blast during the initial meeting and couldn't wait for their wedding day and meet Jun.

The wedding day came and we were so blessed with a fun filled family during preparations and the energy was through the roof! The details of their accessories were so intricate that we capture each and every single item.

As the afternoon came, it rained. It rained HARD. But that didn't stop these two from tying the knot!

With June and Kate's wedding, they truly shined their way through the day despite the dark rain clouds. They are a shining example of why weddings aren't just a formal occasion, they are a celebration that should shine throughout the day!

There’s a funny story regarding this wedding video. When Gilbert and Izza’s friend, Miles contacted us, we can’t seem to agree on a meeting schedule and a lot of factors entered the whole situation like typhoons and other issues that were beyond our control. Three months later, Miles contacted us once again for a meeting and finally we agreed on a meeting schedule. That was the first time we met Gilbert and Izza. During the meeting, I knew this wedding was going to be one of a kind. Gilbert and Izza had such great personalities and such a warm and fun aura around them during the meeting. We were glad that they said yes to us.

A few months later after the meeting, we had their E-session shoot. It was fun filled yet we knew they wanted it to be special and emotional as well. You can tell with their E-session Video below.

(More fun can be seen from their photos! Take a look at their photos from Mike and Mai Photography!)

A few months later, the wedding day was coming closer and closer. It was raining each day before the wedding. It wouldn’t be a problem for some, but it was a Garden Wedding and it was entirely an open area. Everyone was hoping for a sunny weather. Everyone was PRAYING for a sunny weather. Especially Izza and Gilbert.

Then March 26, 2013 came. The Wedding Day finally came.

I was in tears. No, nothing went wrong. In fact, everything was perfect. The weather, the arrangements, the time, and most especially, the couple’s vows. Listening to their vows as I was editing their Same Day Edit video, I couldn’t help myself. I was in tears. Gilbert and Izza delivered their vows with all honesty, love and truly driven by God’s love. What defines a perfect love? A love that’s centered around God’s embrace.

Emotions filled the atmosphere as Gilbert and Izza delivered their vows. Smiles, tears, and laughter. Glibert and Izza, truly are God’s gift to each other and to everyone they know.

Edwin and Janice: A Fine Time Forever from Jepster Togle Films on Vimeo.

March 10, 2013
Ceremony: Caleruega Transfiguration Chapel
Reception: Chateau Royale, Tagaytay

When I first met Edwin and Janice, they told me that they were members of a photography club in Korea. I was glad because for sure, they are also part of a visually creative mindset. Edwin was very hands-on with the visual materials with us and truly knew what he wanted to see for their videos. Not only that he made a very unique song choice for their Same-Day-Edit Video. Not only is this our first time using an OPM song, but it's from one of my favorite local rock bands back in high school. And so, the wedding ended up being a truly fun "Fine Time" as Edwin and Janice celebrate it with lot's of laughter and happiness.

Allen and Sha: Laugh, Love, Life from Jepster Togle Films on Vimeo.

It's fun to shoot a wedding when your co-suppliers have also become your friends. What's better is that one of their friends is getting married and they recommended us to their friend. What's even better is that their friend Allen is the brother of one of my batch mates in Manresa School, my high school Alma Mater. The wedding went so smoothly and with Tagaytay, you can never go wrong.

Date: January 5, 2013
Ceremony: Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Tagaytay
Reception: Villa Ibarra, Tagaytay
Coordinators: C.R.E.A.M.

Joey and Tet: Same Day Edit Video from Jepster Togle Films on Vimeo.

12.15.12. Christmas season was coming in and there were so much mega sales around the Metro. This drove the people around the Metro to go out and do some Christmas shopping. This also drove the roads into extreme traffic. But that didn't drive away Joey and Tet to finally tie the knot! A love that goes beyond time and again (refer to their Pre-wedding film "And to Love Again"), Joey and Tet didn't let the traffic stop their hearts to join into one! Watch their Same Day Edit Video and see how love will cross all obstacles, even the insane traffic of the Christmas rush!
